🌟 Do you need a protein supplement?
.
☝🏼First question you need to ask yourself is are you eating an adequate amount of protein? Not sure? Then figure this out first... I would suggest looking back at my post titled “how much protein?” to determine this.
.
👍🏼If you are eating an adequate amount of protein with ease everyday then a protein supplement is probably unnecessary for you. More protein doesn’t equal more gains and a protein shake doesn’t build your muscles better than just consuming other forms of protein through typical food sources.
.
🥛 If you know that you aren’t achieving your daily protein requirements then I would strongly consider using a protein supplement to help get you there. Alternatively just eat more protein in your diet. However protein supplements are just a convenient and easy way to go about it.
.
🖖🏼 If some days you struggle to achieve your protein target but other days you are fine then consider getting one to use on those lower protein days.
.
🧝🏼‍♂️However please remember that protein supplements are not a magical gateway to more gains. They can be used to ‘supplement’ your existing diet if needed.
.
📲 Also remember that protein supplements still contain calories so track them and keep them in check with your current goal.
